OUR PROGRAMS

What we do

We believe that safe, inclusive, passionate environments enable our children to thrive in and out of the classroom. Our programming provides:

Early Childhood Education
Club48: afterschool and out-of-school learning
Camp Hale: a summer camp in New Hampshire
Family Mobility: parent/caregiver resources

Early Childhood Development

Our early learning program is well-rounded, supportive, and consistently engaging for both youth and their families. We aim to provide an environment that connects infants and youth to quality childcare and educational programs; and for adults, we stay connected throughout your child’s enrollment here.

club48

Our club48 program provides high-quality care and enrichment opportunities for your children. Through lessons, activities, local field trips, and projects, our classrooms provide a thriving environment where your child(ren) can develop and strengthen their innovation, collaboration, and leadership skills

Camp Hale

Camp Hale offers youth the opportunity to experience a summer sleepaway camp in the natural beauty of the White Mountains. Providing a multi-cultural experience, where campers meet and interact with others from different racial, ethnic, and socio-economic backgrounds, Camp Hale transforms youth into resilient leaders as they discover the wonders of nature, build a diverse community, and embrace challenging experiences.

Family Mobility

Our Family Mobility Program aims to provide a supportive partnership with parents and caregivers to move families forward in their goals and economic mobility. Our participants can join our Family Mobility programming through the following ways:

Family Engagement Series
- We host a number of events where parents and children can engage in different activities together. Examples include: community potlucks, Family Camp at Camp Hale, and our Winter Wonderland seasonal celebration.
STEP
- Striving Towards Economic Prosperity (STEP) provides 16 families with children enrolled in our youth programs with $850 of unrestricted monthly payments for 18 months. STEP is a direct method to support families who experience financial strains, burdens, or instability.
Parent Building Blocks
- We provide several opportunities throughout the year for parents and caregivers to expand their resources and skills through educational workshops or classes through partnerships with local organizations where strengthening families is a common goal.

Our Community

Our center is located in the heart of Boston’s South End neighborhood. While we primarily support families in the South End, our reach expands past our wonderful neighborhood with programming supporting families in West Roxbury, Dorchester, and Roslindale. Wherever you are located in the Greater Boston area, we invite you to apply for our programming.

Our Costs

USES is additionally inexpensive. We understand the challenges of rising childcare costs throughout the city – a number of our educators and staff have families of their own, therefore, we value the importance of being a place that provides vouchers and affordable prices to all families.
